Tawse has been producing wines from the organically farmed Laundry Vineyard since 2002 and until now the Merlot has always been used in our red blends. 2014 is the second vintage of this single vineyard Merlot from this site, as a replacement for the beloved David’s Block. Aged in 40% new oak barrels, the brilliant deep plum colour is complemented with a nose exuding notes of blueberry compote, dark chocolate, and hints of smoke. The palate is full with strong polished tannins, leading into fruit forward flavours and a lingering finish of earthy dark chocolate.
