Winemakers Comments -
The Estate Chardonnay is a combination of fruit from our estate chardonnay vineyards. This marriage of the different terroirs results in a wine of great complexity and balance. A year in French Oak barrels was followed by six months in stainless steel tanks. The estate Chardonnay is a medium bodied chardonnay, with a perfect balance of fruit and structure. The nose is layered, beginning with fresh, crisp lemony citrus and ripe MacIntosh apples. The characteristic minerality of our Estate vineyards is evident, contributing a ‘stoney’ character to the wine. Estate Chardonnay is equally suited to sipping on its own, or being paired with an array of foods.

Food Pairings
This Chardonnay has an amazing array of food pairing possibilities. Vegetarian dishes, pasta with cream sauces, and white meats would be great choices. Try cedar plank salmon or roasted pork tenderloin to experience the versatility of a well-made chardonnay!

“The 2010 Estate chardonnay is a blend of of grapes from the Robyn's Block Quarry Road and Hillside vineyards, all certified biodynamic. It's a step up from previous estate bottlings, with a vibrant core of acid and fine tension, especially considering the 2010 vintage conditions (very warm). Ripe citrus and orchard fruit mingles with nicely measured barrel spice and an undercurrent of limestone. It's a little tighter than the Robyn's Block bottling, and slightly less focused and mineral than the Quarry Road, but balances the two styles nicely. A solid wine to be sure.  John Szabo MS.  Tasted August 2012.”
